Welcome to Te Kanawa's Marae

Kia Ora and Welcome to Te Kanawa's Marae's Class Blog.
Dame Kiri Te Kanawa
This blog will be a place where students, Mrs Johnson, and I will share the teaching and learning that takes place in our class throughout the year. Keep checking back to see what is happening in Room 15 at Hoon Hay School.
Our class is named after Dame Kiri Te Kanawa who is a soprano opera singer, born in Gisborne in 1944. She is world renowned and has sung in all the major opera houses throughout the world. She currently mentors young singers and helps them to reach for the stars with their talent of singing. 
During the first term we will be finding out more about Kiri and why she is a loved and respected New Zealand legend. Please visit our blog and write a comment.

    I'm really excited to be on a learning journey with Room 15 this year and I'm looking forward to finding out more about Dame Kiri Te Kanawa this term. What a perfect legend Mrs Peterson!
